WARRANTY

All of our scissors are high in quality and will last for many years, provided that they are handled correctly and serviced regularly. For service or repair work, the scissors must be returned to Serious About Scissors. If the scissors are serviced or repaired by any other company, the warranty will be voided.

All Excellent Edges™ scissors have a lifetime steel warranty (should the scissors break into two or should a tooth fall off, you will be offered a replacement). This warranty does not cover damages caused by normal wear and tear. Excellent Edges™’ extensive ‘Quality Management’ system serves to guarantee that your scissors have been carefully tested before leaving the factory. If you are still not pleased with your product, please contact Serious About Scissors with a description of the problem.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WARRANTY WILL BE VOIDED IF: 

  • The center screw is not inspected every day

  • The scissors have not been cleaned regularly

  • The scissors are not oiled every day and only with camellia oil

  • The scissors have been dropped

  • The scissors are corroded due to lack of cleaning or oiling.

  • Sharpening has been carried out by a company that’s not Excellent Edges™

During the first eight days of use, please remember to regulate the center screw in order to ensure that the rubber ring between the steel and the center screw adjusts to the steel. After service, always remember not to keep the pressure of your thumb too tight. If the center screw is loose, or you press your thumb too hard, it can cause immediate damage to the blade.

CERTIFICATE

All Excellent Edges™ scissors come with a handwritten certificate. This certificate is your guarantee that you have purchased an original Excellent Edges™ product. The certificate also gives you a detailed description of how to care for your scissors.

1. TERMS OF USE.

a ) Acceptance of Terms. By accessing and/or using our website to affiliate yourself to our membership, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms, just as if you had agreed to these Terms in writing.

b ) Additional Terms. In addition to these Terms, when using plans, offers, products, services or features, you will also be subject to any additional posted guidelines, or rules applicable to such plan, offer, product, service or feature, which may be posted and modified from time to time. All such additional terms are hereby incorporated by reference into the Terms, provided that in the event of any conflict between such additional terms and the Terms, the Terms shall control.

c ) SAS Definition. The term SAS refers to the company name: Serious About Scissors. 

2. SERIOUS ABOUT SCISSORS MEMBERSHIP PLANS

a ) Monthly Membership. SAS offers a monthly membership that enables members to receive specific products as detailed in each one of the membership plans.

b ) Membership Terms. Your membership starts on the date that you sign up for a Membership Plan and submit payment via a valid Payment Method. All terms, unless we otherwise communicate a different time period to you at the time of sign up (such as a multi-month commitment plan), each Term is 36 months (3 years) in length (a “Membership Term”) and will automatically renew for an additional 36 months (3 years) until your membership is cancelled or terminated. You must provide us with a current, valid, accepted method of payment (which we may update from time to time, “Payment Method”). We will automatically bill the monthly membership fee to your Payment Method each month until your Membership Plan is cancelled or terminated.

c ) Membership Plans. We may offer several membership plans, including special promotional plans or memberships, with differing conditions and limitations. We reserve the right to modify, terminate or otherwise amend our offered membership plans.

d ) Proof of Concept (“POC”). SAS may offer a POC package specific to a certain Membership Plan for new and existing clients. The term of the POC is 2 weeks. Your POC will become a Membership Plan unless SAS is notified to cancel your POC within 3 business days of POC Term completion. You will be required to leave a credit card on file for all POC packages.

e ) Availability and Allocation. As a part of membership plans provided by SAS, you may be entitled to receive products within a Membership Term. SAS will not be responsible for any delays caused by 3rd party shipping or courier companies that may cause your products to arrive late. You may also be eligible to obtain a discount on other products we sell. The type, quantity, allocation and availability of products such as scissors, combs, oils and other inventory offered are determined by SAS in its sole discretion. As such, SAS takes certain steps to release, promote and otherwise make available inventory at varying times and in an ongoing and evolving way.

f ) Lifetime Warranty and Service. SAS or an SAS partner will perform hardware sharpening/service according to the Membership Plan selected. Servicing your products outside of SAS and their partners will void the warranty. If you have any questions about servicing your products, please contact SAS, immediately.

g ) Auto-Renew. Your SAS Membership Plan will automatically renew/re-term if not cancelled with a 30-day notice. Please send all cancellations to info@seriousaboutscissors.com

h ) Storage of Membership Information. Upon set up of your Membership Plan, you are required to complete a Membership Set Up Form which collects your primary information, references, and billing information. By accepting the 'The Terms and Conditions' you hereby agree and understand that your billing information will be manually transferred to a third party software that will store and keep track of your account information, purchases and distribute your discounts and certificate codes. 

i ) Membership Set Up Process. Visit www.seriousaboutscissors.com/memberships > complete subscription purchase > receive email with prompt to Complete Member Set Up Form > complete Member Set Up Form > agree to 'Terms & Conditions' > completion page with prompt to make Down Payment on your initial 'selected' Membership Plan > complete Down Payment > receive confirmation of completion email > be contacted by SAS Team within 24-48 hours from completion with correspondence / codes and certificates. 

3. BILLING

a ) Recurring Billing. By starting your SAS membership, you authorize us to charge you for your initial membership period and a recurring monthly membership fee at the then current rate, which may change from time to time. You acknowledge that the amount billed each month may vary for reasons that may include differing amounts due to promotional offers and/or changing or adding a plan, and you authorize us to charge your Payment Method for such varying amounts, which may be billed monthly in one or more charges. You also authorize us to charge you any other fees you may incur in connection with your use of our services, such as any applicable sign-up fee, taxes and cancellation or late fees, as further explained below.

b ) Billing Cycle. When you sign up and purchase your SAS Membership, your first payment will be billed immediately. Your Membership fee will be billed on the same date each month. We reserve the right to change the timing of our billing (and if we do, we’ll adjust the amounts we charge, as appropriate). In the event your paying membership began on a day not contained in a given month, we may bill your Payment Method on a day in the applicable month or such other day as we deem appropriate. For example, if you started your SAS membership or became a paying member on January 31st, your next payment date is likely to be February 28th, and your Payment Method would be billed on that date. Your renewal date may change due to changes in your membership.

c ) Price Changes. We reserve the right to adjust pricing at any time. Unless we expressly communicate otherwise, any price changes to your membership will take effect on your next billing cycle upon notice communicated through a posting on the SAS website, mobile app, or such other means as we may deem appropriate from time to time, such as email, phone and text.

d ) Payment Methods. You may edit your Payment Method information by logging online and editing it under your profile. If a payment is not successfully settled, due to expiration, insufficient funds or otherwise, and you do not edit your Payment Method information or cancel your account (see, “Cancellation” below), you nonetheless will remain responsible for any uncollected amounts and authorize us to continue billing the Payment Method, as it may be updated, including in the event you attempt to create a new account. This may result in a change to your payment billing dates. If we cannot charge your account, we reserve the right, but are not obligated, to terminate your access to our Site or any portion thereof.

e ) Cancellation of Membership. For Month to Month Memberships, you may terminate at any time with a 7-day advance notice by emailing your request to info@seriousaboutscissors.com. Following any cancellation, you will continue to have access to your Membership through the end of your current prepaid billing period, unless you cancel and receive a refund, in which case your access will be terminated immediately. For any Memberships that had a set term, SAS will charge the remaining months not yet billed.

f ) Hold. In lieu of cancellation, we also may give you the option to put your membership on hold at any time. Please request a hold at least 7 days prior to your next billing date if you want to put your membership on hold. Must provide legal documentation to request for a hold or suspension claim. Everything listed below is approved with a 30-day hold but is subject to a longer term with the approval of SAS management: carpal tunnel, pregnancy (60 days or extension with approval from SAS management) 

g ) Gifts and Promotions. From time to time we may make available gift cards for SAS membership, other types of promotions or promotional plans (including using promotional codes or those provided as part of a third-party promotion). Promotions and promotional plans may be redeemed as described in the specifics of the promotion and may be subject to additional or different terms. Unless otherwise expressly communicated to you in connection with your redemption, promotions and promotional plans are not transferable, can only be used once, cannot be redeemed for cash, and may not be combined with other offers and are void where prohibited. To be eligible for certain promotions, your Membership may not be on “hold”.

h ) Taxes. All Membership Plan Members will be responsible for paying local taxes.

4. OTHER FEES

a ) Fees. Your SAS membership fee covers your access to the products described in your plan. In addition to your membership fee, you are responsible for paying cancellation fees. We reserve the right to change the policy regarding when we charge fees, to introduce additional fees (such as a sign-up fee) and to change the amount of any such fees at any time. 

5. TERMINATION OR MODIFICATION BY SAS

a ) Termination or Modification. You understand and agree that, at any time and without prior notice SAS may (1) terminate, cancel, deactivate and/or suspend your Membership, your account, any orders placed, or your access to or use of the Site or your membership (or any portion thereof, including your access to any or all Venues or services) and/or (2) discontinue, modify or alter any aspect, feature or policy of the Site or your Membership. This includes the right to terminate or modify any Membership prior to the end of any pre-paid or committed period. Upon any termination, we may immediately deactivate your account and all related information and/or bar any further access to your account information and the Site. Upon any such termination by us without cause, as your sole recourse, we will issue you a pro rata refund of the prepaid portion of your Membership applicable to future unused services (less any fees or costs for classes or services already used). If we determine that you have violated these Terms or otherwise engaged in illegal or improper use of your membership or the Site, you will not be entitled to any refund and you agree that we will not be responsible to pay any such refund. You agree that SAS will not be liable to you or any third party for any termination or modification to the service regardless of the reason for such termination or modification. You acknowledge that your only right with respect to any dissatisfaction with any modification or discontinuation of service made by us is to cancel or terminate your Membership.
